MANAJEMEN PEMBINAAN KINERJA GURU DALAM PENINGKATAN PEMBELAJARAN MATA PELAJARAN KEJURUAN

Abstract

Management of teacher performance coaching in improving vocational subject learning is motivated by the lack of optimal teacher performance, low student achievement, and unemployment of SMK graduates. The research aims to get an overview: the implementation of coaching performance of certified educator teachers; factors that influence teacher performance; efforts and strategic steps to streamline coaching. Using qualitative methods. Research results: Fostering teacher performance in three Vocational Schools has been carried out by the school supervisor together with the principal but has not been optimally effective due to several reasons: the ratio of schools with supervisors 1: 35 (ideal: 7-10);  Coaching is done together for all subject teachers;  there are non-linear teachers with educational backgrounds and originating from multiple expertise certification; Not all vocational subject teachers have competency certificates; Facilities for practical infrastructure for students are still too large in ratio compared to the number of students; The results of the guidance and supervision activities that have not been optimal are followed up by educated certified vocational subject teachers. Factors that influence teacher performance come from the intrinsic and extrinsic factors of the teacher itself. Efforts made to improve learning:Aligning programs and teaching materials with industry parties; Fulfillment of infrastructure facilities; Apprenticeship of teachers to industry; the use of learning models that encourage students to be more active; increasing the role of the MGMP; competency certification for vocational subject teachers.
