MANAJEMEN PENDIDIKAN KARAKTER PADA SMP ISLAM AL AZHAR DKI JAKARTA
Studi Tentang Strategi Pembentukan Karakter Murid Di SMP Islam Al Azhar DKI Jakarta
This study aims to obtain information about the management of character education in Jakarta's Al Azhar Islamic Middle School, which concerns issues: (1) Policies and programs of character education in Al Azhar Islamic Middle School in Jakarta; (2) Implementation of character education policies and programs in Al Azhar Islamic Junior High School in DKI Jakarta; (3) Problems faced by leaders and teachers in developing character education in Al Azhar Islamic Middle School in DKI Jakarta; (4) Future improvement efforts so that character education gets optimal results. The method used in this research is the description method with a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques used were observation, interview, and documentation study. While the data analysis techniques used in this study are data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results obtained are as follows: (1) School policies in realizing character education in Al Azhar Islamic Junior High School in DKI Jakarta have referred to policies that reflect School Based Management (SBM) policies, but must still follow policies determined by the central foundation namely YPI Al Azhar. Whereas the school work program refers to the results of the Work Meeting (Coordination Meeting) of the teacher and education staff board, and the hour of leadership led by the school principal as outlined in the Annual Work Program (PKT); (2) The implementation of the character education policy in Al Azhar Islamic Junior High School in DKI Jakarta has been implemented, but it is still not optimal because the involvement of parents and students has not been fully implemented; (3) Problems that hamper the implementation of character education, are exemplary problems from the leadership, teachers, and employees that are not optimal, the problem of lack of professionalism of teachers, awareness of all school members in following the rules and school rules still lacking, problems lack of teacher cohesiveness, problems of teacher and employee inconsistencies, problems of overcrowded activities and a few subtle and transparent financial problems. (4) efforts undertaken by schools to improve and enhance character education are through increased supervision, leadership and teacher modeling, through coaching, building awareness to all school members to follow the school's order properly, division of tasks and responsibilities of teachers who fair and equitable, and accountable and transparent financial management
